POR Discord Announcement!
ATTENTION ALL CREWS!
On April 21st, 2017, Pirates Online Retribution Discord's usage availability will be restricted solely to POR Staff, and POR Sponsors/Donors. This is being done as a result of a steep decline in activity on the Pirates Forums, which as a result has lessened POR's SEO score as a whole. SEO (Search Engine Optimization) determines how visible your site is when a random individual searches it on a search engine. Actions such as comments, blogs, and profile messages on the Forums greatly contribute to SEO. Unfortunately, messages on Discord do not. If there is a declining SEO score, this means that there are fewer potentially new players around to replace those who may go inactive some day, and as a result, the community as a whole will ultimately shrink in the longterm if this measure is not taken.
Furthermore, this will allow our moderators to allocate more attention towards moderating the game, and hosting future GM events. We sincerely hope that you'll all be joining us on the official Pirates Forums, as it is far more versatile, and by using it, you are ultimately helping the project far more in the longhaul. Post - April 21st, in order to retain your spot in the official POR Discord, as stated previously, you must either be a POR Staff member, or a Sponsor. You can become a Sponsor by donating on the Pirates Forums. Godspeed!

It's finally Easter, for the first time here in the Caribbean at Pirates Online Retribution! We hope ye all fill up on lots of goodies, and find as many of those hidden Easter eggs as ye possibly can. Game Masters will be giving out varieties of items throughout Easter Sunday - April 16th, on Abassa, Tortuga so keep a weather eye out if yer lookin' to receive some special holiday gifts!

EMERGENCY BROADCAST!
As many of you may be aware, a group known as "ROT" AKA "Reign of Terror" which is allegedly working alongside TLOPO has hacked into the accounts of a handful of players lately here at POR. Without getting too specific as to how/why this occurred, we'd simply like to strongly advise you all to update your passwords IMMEDIATELY in order to ensure that your account is under solid lock-and-key and is not in danger of being compromised.
We have taken several measures to further improve the security of our game's systems and databases to decrease the likelihood of an issue such as this from ever occurring again in the future. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that this may have caused any of you loyal retribution-seeking swashbucklers. Please be sure to relay this message to all of yer fellow pirates and buccaneers!

Open Beta Announcement!
It's official. At long last, the date for POR's Open Beta release has been set for May 26th, 2017, the same day the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie, POTC 5 - "Dead Men Tell No Tales" will be premiering in theaters across the USA! Open Beta will include Sailing, Crews, Poker and Blackjack, PvP, Cannon Defense, Caves, Quests, and hundreds of bug-fixes and performance enhancements. Our development team will be working extremely hard throughout the next two months in order to ensure that this deadline is met. We're all very confident, and excited for our Beta release, and would like to take this opportunity to thank the Pirates Online community for their unwavering support throughout the past few months. We never could've come this far without each and every one of you!
