Here's a unique sneak peek at some more of our most recent progress on "ship interiors". Special thanks to our lead game designer, Daniel Alves and assistant game designer, Captain Red. The following image is an interior model of what will be serving as the main deck of War class ship interiors on Pirates Online Retribution. We also intend to implement captain's cabins, lower decks, and quarterdecks in the very near future. Ship interiors will add a whole new dynamic, and realistic feel to ships on Pirates Online Retribution, and will make owning, captaining, and being a part of a ship and/or crew far more surreal, and enjoyable. Stay tuned for more exclusive content to emerge soon just over the horizon!

If you have any suggestions for something you'd like to see specifically included within the interiors of ships on Pirates Online Retribution, please be sure to leave a comment on the following news post below.

As one of many changes that are being made here at POR in preparation for Open Beta, this coming May 26th, we've just recently tripled our player-hosting capacity by adding eight brand new top of the line servers, in addition to our already existing four. As we are anticipating a massive surge in activity within the coming weeks following the premier of POTC 5 in theaters, as well as our Open Beta release, and the beginning of Summer break, we believe it to be imperative that POR is able to host all of its players comfortably, whilst also ensuring the lowest possible latency ratios. With the implementation of these new servers, Pirates Online Retribution is now the largest Pirates Online emulator on the web!

Additionally, we've also implemented a brand new district player count variable which will display how many players are online on each server at any given moment. This way, you'll be able to make a more informed decision prior to connecting to a server, and will be able to choose whether you'd prefer to play in solitude, or be among dozens of other fellow pirates and swashbucklers alike.

Open Beta release is officially less than three weeks away from today. We hope you're all as excited as we are. We can't wait to see you on the high seas!

In an effort to dramatically increase the size of the Pirates Online community, and introduce Pirates Online Retribution to Pirates of the Caribbean fans who may not yet be aware of our game, we've decided to launch a massive advertisement campaign, starting on May 26th (the day the next POTC movie premiers, and also the day POR officially enters Open Beta.) This in essence is a contest, but far different than any we've ever had here at POR.

From May 26th - June 10th, we will be handing out thousands of flyers at numerous movie theaters, in an effort to help spread the word about Pirates Online Retribution. However, as a basic function of arithmetic, this campaign will be most effective if more people help us out! With that being said, we will be posting a copy of the flyer on our Facebook page, as well as this news post once it is finalized. Any individual who hands out at least 100 flyers during the two week time frame mentioned above, will receive a special, limited edition badge in-game, full access to our Discord server, and 20,000 golden doubloons on POR. In order for us to verify that you've handed the flyers out, please submit a picture of yourself, holding all of the flyers, whilst at a movie theater by emailing support@piratesonline.us You do not have to reveal your face in the picture if you would prefer not to.

The Tale of Skeleton Island!

Learn the untold history of Jack Sparrow and Jolly Roger!

Jolly Roger was a merciless soul, but the Brethren Court was able to find use of his dark and malicious talents. Jolly was their henchman, performing unsavory deeds whenever the Court didn't want to soil their hands or tarnish their own reputations. For his service, Jolly believed that one day, he'd be granted a seat on the prestigious Court - something he desired more than life itself. Jolly and Jack Sparrow had been close friends, long ago, and he was always envious of Jack's uncanny luck. As Jack's reputation and infamy grew, so did Jolly's resentment. So when Captain Teague left the Court and passed along his seat to his son, Jack Sparrow, Jolly vowed to take revenge.

Knowing Jack was a card lover, Jolly invited him to a friendly game of poker. Knowing he was tactically outmatched, Jolly knew he'd have to cheat to win so he conspired with a villainous Witch Doctor to deal the cards. Jolly won hand after hand until eventually Jack was out of both tricks, and money. Then, just as Jolly had hoped, Jack bet his seat on the Brethren Court for one, last hand. The Witch Doctor dealt Jolly a full house - Sixes over Fours. By now Jack knew he was being cheated so he plucked an Ace from his sleeve and presented a Full House too - Aces over Jacks. Realizing he'd been beaten, Jolly drew his sword and broke into a fiery rage, knocking over the table. Just as Jack lunged from his chair to make his escape, the Witch Doctor began cackling in a twisted and grotesque manner as Jolly's flesh began to disappear from his body as he wailed out in agony, ultimately being transformed from a once proud sailor into a skeletal monster.
